Our society places so much pressure on us to look “perfect” all the time. In fact so much pressure that it’s really impossible to live up to those expectations. Many times those expectations end up having a negative effect. Self esteem can take a direct hit.
My goal as a photographer is to show clients that they are already beautiful. Recently I was photographing a woman in a boudoir session and after taking just 2 or 3 photos I turned the camera around to show her what it looked like. As I turned the camera I mentioned to her that was already doing fantastic. What happened next made my day. As soon as she saw the image on the camera she exclaimed “OMG. I am beautiful!.” I had a mixed emotion at first. Sad that she doubted herself, but satisficed that I had shown her the beauty that was already there.
